About Leah

During the day, I’m an Assistant Professor of UX Design at Western Kentucky University. By night, I’m a part-time, remote instructor at the University of Georgia. Dual identity, double the teaching fun!

I have approximately ten years of design experience. I specialize in the full gambit of digital design: graphic design, interaction design, brand identity, interface (UI) design, UX strategy and research, project management, and more.

Additionally, I study the social, cultural, and ethical implications of new and emerging media technologies, considering their impact on society and individuals. My goal is to lead and practice an Agile mindset and leave digital products better than I found them.

I’m an alumna of the inaugural cohort of the University of Georgia’s Emerging Media Masters concentration. Upon graduating, I worked at UGA Public Service and Outreach to elevate UGA’s reputation as the state’s flagship land-grant institution. Then, I returned to Grady College, to spearhead the Emerging Media Masters, expand Double Dawg offerings, and teach the next generation of designers—all while crafting communications for my department at the time, the New Media Institute and TEDxUGA.

When I’m not at my computer, you can find me hanging out with my human counterpart, Justin, and my corgi counterpart, Pixel (better known as Pip).

It goes without saying… but I’m a big dog person.
